Registration for the 2023 academic year will take place online and off-campus from 20 January to 10 February 2023. It's important to register as early as possible, as spaces may fill up quickly. No on-campus facilities will be available for registration, and students should use a tablet, handheld device, or other computer to register online. Students should review their Proof of Registration to ensure that their qualification and all module registrations are complete and correct for the entire year. Any previous studies at a higher education institution must also be declared to UJ
Payments
In order to register, students must pay the minimum amounts required for their program. Day students must pay tuition fees of R3,870, while residence students must pay tuition fees and a residence deposit of R6,470 (or just tuition fees of R3,870 if they are provisionally selected or waiting for a space in residence). Payment can be made online using a credit card or other method, but it's important to note that alternative payment methods may not be reflected immediately and could impact a student's ability to secure a place. Students who wish to withdraw or transfer to another institution must cancel their registration at UJ
Changes to registration
There are a few important changes to the registration process at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) for the 2023 academic year. Students who wish to cancel or change their studies must submit a request to the relevant faculty officer in their faculty of registration. Requests should be made using the submission form found on the UJ website. Failure to submit a request could result in students being liable for fees for the year. In addition, students can only add modules during the registration period, and no further additions will be permitted after this time. Cancellations must be made in writing, and telephonic cancellations will not be accepted. Students who fail to notify the university officially of their cancellation or change of studies before the prescribed dates will forfeit any claim to reimbursement.
