Internship Overview

  • Position: Asset Management Intern

  • Internship Duration: Up to 18 months

  • Stipend: R10 109.86 per month (basic salary, no benefits)

    Minimum Requirements

    To qualify for the Asset Management Internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) certification

    • National Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related qualification (NQF Level 6/7)

    • No prior work experience required

    • Resident of the City of Johannesburg communities

    • Must never have participated in an internship irrelevant to their field of study

    What You’ll Do – Primary Functions

    As an Asset Management Intern, you will:

    • Support the monitoring and review of fixed asset accounting procedures

    • Ensure asset capitalisation, transfers, and disposals are accurately recorded

    • Assist with asset reconciliations and financial reporting notes

    • Help prepare and interpret asset management data for statutory compliance

    • Provide advisory support on asset control standards to departments

    Key Learning Areas

    Interns will gain hands-on experience in:

    • Understanding and applying GRAP (Generally Recognised Accounting Practice) requirements

    • Implementing internal control procedures for fixed assets

    • Preparing financial data and reports linked to asset management

    • Participating in coordinated asset monitoring and accounting operations
