About DUT

With over 33,000 students, the Durban Institution of Technology (DUT) is KwaZulu-Natal's (KZN) best university. It is located in two beautiful cities, Pietermaritzburg and Durban (PMB). This university of technology places a great importance on teaching and learning, so all of its faculty members must have the most advanced degrees.

In April 2002, the Durban University of Technology was created by the merger of the ML Sultan and Technikon Natal technikons. Prior to being renamed the Durban University of Technology, it was known as the Durban Institute of Technology, just like the other technical universities.
