About TUT

Tshwane University of Technology was created in 2004 by the merger of three technical colleges. Their merger aimed to rectify historical injustices by providing all of their students with access to our communities and an academic home. They have rapidly grown to become the largest contact university in South Africa, with seven schools that offer programs in science, engineering and technology, business and administration, education, the humanities, and the arts. TUT is one of the top 1000 universities in the world, and its engineering programs rank in the top 300, according to Times Higher Education (THE). THE also has us placed eighth in South Africa. 2017
