About UP
The major campus of the institution of Pretoria (UP), a public institution with seven campuses, is located in the centre of Hatfield, the charming diplomatic centre of the capital city of South Africa. We take pride in being one of the top research universities in the world.
UP provides excellent teaching, learning, and research skills in all nine colleges, including Africa's best Faculty of Law and Business School and South Africa's only Faculty of Veterinary Science. It is tucked away in the purple haze of Pretoria's famous jacaranda trees. We genuinely believe that our success is determined by how our current actions affect both our future and the future of the continent as a whole, in addition to what we have already accomplished.

How to Apply
Application Fee
The application fee for the University of Pretoria (UP) is R300. This fee is non-refundable and must be paid when submitting the online study application
Closing date
Applications close for Veterinary Science will close on 31 May and 30 June for all other courses
How to calculate UP's APS
The calculation of the APS is based on a candidate’s achievement in 6 20-credit recognised subjects by using the NSC ratings that is the 1 to 7 scale of achievement – adding them together.
Thus, the highest APS that can be achieved is 42.
Life Orientation is excluded from the calculation.
